Amahl and the Night Visitors is the story of a spirited shepherd boy and his mother who have fallen on tough times. Three kings from distant lands knock on the door and ask to rest in their humble home. Amahl is in awe of their royal guests. When the visitors describe a child king they are seeking, both Amahl and his mother are inspired by the message of hope this new king might bring.
